Risk assessment is discussed in numerous IT-related standards and methodologies. However they all suffer from a common failing in that they leave the really difficult components of reliable and accurate risk assessment entirely to the discretion of the practitioner. Starting from some standard examples, this presentation will discuss what is usually left out and why it is critical to success".
